In this free online class, I’ll walk you through my personal encaustic portrait process from first concept to finished surface, so you can better understand how I work and how you might adapt these methods to your own practice.

This class is designed for artists at any level who are drawn to encaustic painting, portraiture, or mixed media. I’ll share how I approach preparing surfaces, building layers with wax, transferring and integrating imagery, developing skin tones and depth, and knowing when a portrait is finished. Along the way, I’ll talk about common challenges, creative decision-making, and what I’ve learned through experience.
