Listen To Your Life: An Exploration of Intuitive Abstraction

A Zoom live exploration of diving into the intuitive space- where we created from as a child when delight was the rule-and putting color, shape, mark, and joy onto the canvas.

What speaks to you when you pause long enough to hear the voice of your soul?

This is intuition.

Taking brush in hand, responding to this call, we find our way to being the co-creators of beauty, truth, inspiration, integrity, joy, and peace for which we are here.

Join me in this live-time around the studio table to explore intuitive abstract expression. We will not begin in encaustic, and may not get to this 'additional' layering in our time live, but have your palette at the ready because I am certain that once we begin, you will want to keep on going and get into the wax!

I look forward to responding together to the translation of materials across our shared canvases~

Choose your surface, prepare your palette, have materials close by, apron on, and join.

Recommended Materials (These or something like them)

  • 'Wet' materials:

    • encaustic gesso

    • tube watercolor or milk paint or dry pigments or gouache or latex-free chalk paint ( aka water soluble fluid color!)

  • 'Dry' materials:

    • caran d'arche neocolors or similar

    • charcoal

    • graphite

  • Surfaces:

    • 1 (2 if you work fast) large 'canvas' (board, watercolor paper, or cardboard)

    • 'large' is what you determine it to be for you

    • 5-12 small 'canvases'

Again, small is what you make it to be for you.
